Europe Fear & Greed Index vs. Index ETF
What is FearAlert's European sentiment score?
The European Fear & Greed Index is a composite sentiment score for European equity markets, calculated from five market factors using the Euro Stoxx 50 (^STOXX50E) and the iShares Core Euro Stoxx 50 ETF (EXW1.DE). It scores overall European market sentiment from 0 (Extreme Fear) to 100 (Extreme Greed).
Whether you're tracking European equities for contrarian entry points or hedging portfolio risk, FearAlert turns Euro Stoxx 50 sentiment data into an automated email alert so you never miss the signal.
How it's calculated
The EU score combines five factors into a single 0–100 reading from daily OHLCV data. Market data is sourced from licensed providers including Tiingo and Alpha Vantage where configured.
How it works
Create a FearAlert account, then add a payment method in the dashboard to activate the 1-month monitoring trial.
In the dashboard, create a new alert rule, select "Fear & Greed Index" as the indicator, and choose "Europe" as the market.
Choose the EU score to alert on. A score of 25 or below is Extreme Fear; 30 is a broader fear threshold. You can set any level from 1 to 99 — above or below.
When the EU FGI crosses your threshold, you get an email after the next scheduled evaluation with the current score, historical comparisons, and market context.
